Saudi Traffic recalled a violation related to a practice practiced by many people, which consists in leaving car engines running and leaving them to buy basic necessities or to pray.
This practice is widespread in the Gulf countries, because many vehicle owners leave their engines running so that the car’s air conditioning remains in cooling mode, due to the intense heat outside.
As a result of this practice, many car thefts have been recorded in Saudi Arabia, which prompted the Traffic Department to remember that it is considered a violation.
And Saudi Traffic said in a Twitter post on Monday that “leaving the vehicle open and running it after leaving it is a traffic violation.”
Leaving the vehicle unlocked and running after leaving it is a traffic violation.

And he asked “make sure you turn off the engine of your vehicle and close it tightly when you get off”.
Andlast JuneA video clip recorded by a surveillance camera documented the theft of a car whose owner left it running at a gas station in Saudi Arabia.

The clip showed the driver of the car getting out to buy basic necessities from a shop at the station, where a young man was waiting for the right moment to carry out the theft.
Then the young man opened the car door and rushed out of the gas station.
AndIt was the Saudi traffic department I had already warned, in June, of this practice.
