The figures are starting to rise again in France: 263 people have died of the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the toll to 26,643 deaths since the start of the epidemic, according to the last assessment communicated this Monday evening by the ARS. In detail, there are 16,820 deaths in hospitals and 9,823 deaths in nursing homes.
According to the ARS, 22,284 people are hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection and 523 new admissions were recorded in 24 hours. 2,712 patients with a severe form of COVID-19 are hospitalized in intensive care. 82 new serious cases were admitted. The balance remains negative in intensive care, with 64 fewer serious patients suffering from COVID-19.
Four regions (Ile de France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France) account for 74% of hospitalized cases. In overseas France (Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion, Martinique, Mayotte), there are 102 hospitalizations, including 23 in intensive care.
