Music and film star Olivia Newton-John will have a state tribute in her adopted country of Australia, authorities said Thursday.

The British-born, Australian-raised star of the 1978 musical Grease died Monday at her home in California.

The causes of her death were not revealed, but the 73-year-old artist spent three decades battling breast cancer.

Victoria state chief Dan Andrews said Newton-John’s family had accepted the offer of a memorial service that “will be much more of a concert than a funeral.”

“It will be a fitting celebration for such a rich and generous life,” he added. The date of the commemoration has not yet been defined.

Her widower John Easterling posted a tribute to her on social media Thursday, thanking fans for the “vast ocean of love and support” that came with her death.

“She was the bravest woman I have ever met,” he said. “In her most difficult moments she always had the spirit, the humor and the will to light things up.” (YO)
