Myanmar implemented a total defense strategy and attacked through counterattacks. With that tactic, they took the lead in the 44th minute through Nay Min Htet’s goal.

The Indonesian U-16 national team, which was handled by the Bima Sakti coach, equalized through Muhammad Riski Afrisal’s free kick in the 70th minute. The match ended with a 1-1 draw so that it continued to a penalty shootout which Indonesia won with a score of 5-4.

During the penalty shootout, Myanmar only had nine fit players on the field. Because the Myanmar U-16 national team was hit by a storm of injuries.

Aung Zaw hopes that Garuda Asia will win the 2022 edition of the AFF U-16 Cup. Indonesia beat Myanmar 5-4 on penalties and will face Vietnam in the final at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Friday 12 August 2022 at 20.00 WIB.

“I hope Indonesia will win,” he said.
