In March 2021, citizens elect a new state parliament. Parties would currently have to determine who to send into the race – however, the planned events cannot take place.

The constituencies

In the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, there are three constituencies in the state election: constituency 46 with the east of Freiburg, the Upper Black Forest and parts of the Waldshut district, previously represented by Reinhold Pix; constituency 47, with the other districts of Freiburg to Schallstadt, in which Edith Sitzmann holds the direct mandate; and constituency 48 with the Breisgau parishes, currently represented by Bärbl Mielich. All three are members of the Greens.

The election nominations must be submitted to the district returning officer up to 59 days before the election. The BZ has asked the district associations how they plan.
