The fire service now has control of the fire. Another person has been sent to hospital.
One person has been found dead in a house burning on Kvaløysletta in Tromsø. The Troms police district reports this at 00.25 on Wednesday night.
Another person has been sent to the University of Northern Norway in Tromsø with unknown extent of damage.
The police are investigating the case.
The police were notified of the fire by the fire service at 21.54 and all emergency services are on site. At 23.55, the police stated that there was still a fire, and that the fire brigade would work for a few more hours.
The house is located in a residential area. The danger of spreading on the site was reported for a while, but the fire is now under control.
– It is a densely populated area, but so far I have only been informed that a neighboring house has been evacuated, operations manager Beate Helberg told VG at 22.20.
