AZ Klina in Brasschaat treats 500 new patients with kidney stones every year. The kidney stone clinic is known for its total approach. The kidney stones are treated in a high-tech operating room, but urologists also try to determine the cause. “After each treatment, the patient’s kidney stones are sent in and the patient is monitored to see why he or she is developing kidney stones,” explains Dr. Vincent De Conick, who heads a specialized team as a urologist. “Blood and urine are taken and we ask about dietary habits. This way we can prevent the patient from developing new kidney stones in the future.”
