Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, confirmed that the decision to cancel the Premier League competition for the current season, or to complete it after the end of the Corona Virus Crisis, is due to the quinquennial committee entrusted with taking a decision in that matter
Sobhi said in statements to the program “On My Responsibility” via the echo of the country, that the ministry does not interfere in technical matters, but rather is a direct decision from the quinquennial committee, but rather it is only in large legal decisions.
The Minister of Sports pointed out that a telephone call he had gathered with Amr Al-Janaini, the head of the five-year committee in charge of managing the Football Association, today, Wednesday, and there are no current indications of canceling the league, its completion or crowning the league.
He continued: “All federations and all sports institutions are committed to the state’s decision to suspend all activities for another 14 days. All state institutions operate in the same format.”
And about preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed to the summer of 2021, Ashraf Sobhi said that he will hold a meeting with the Olympic Committee to find out about a one-year qualification program for the 73 heroes and heroes who qualified for the Olympics.
He continued: “All players and champions are currently communicating with coaches and federations to maintain the minimum loads, hoping to return as soon as possible to continue the qualification period for Tokyo.
