Henrikh Mkhitaryan ever had a complicated relationship with Jose Mourinho of Manchester United. However, now both of them have moved on and are ready to work together in AS Roma.
Mkhitaryan was coached by Mourinho at Manchester United in 2016-2018. However, their relationship is not always harmonious.
After performing well in his first season with Manchester United, Mkhitaryan then declined in his second season. Mourinho did not hesitate to criticize Mkhitaryan’s performance openly in the media.
In the end, Mkhitaryan was released to Arsenal in a swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez. In an interview in 2020, Mkhitaryan admitted that his relationship with Mourinho was the most complicated of his career.

Mkhitaryan and Mourinho are now reunited at AS Roma. Mourinho has been appointed as Roma’s new coach ahead of the 2021/2022 season. Meanwhile, Mkhitaryan has extended his contract with the Giallorossi until June 2022.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan reluctant to leverage the issue with Jose Mourinho in the past. The Armenian international midfielder is ready to start over with Mourinho.
“Mourinho is very ambitious, he always wants to win. He doesn’t care if we play well or badly, the important thing is the three points,” Mkhitaryan told reporters. Sky Sport Italy as reported Football Italia.
“Everyone knows he has won almost everything. I don’t want to talk about the past, we talked about it together and started from scratch at a different level,” continued the 32-year-old midfielder.
“I know what he asks of his players and I am ready to give everything,” said Mkhitaryan.
