Eyewitnesses after the tragedy with the 8-year-old child: The ambulance arrived after more than 30 minutes

The residents of Bratanitsa will continue to go to the vigil in memory of the 8-year-old girl, who yesterday was hit by a BOP employee on a footpath and died later in the Pazardzhik Hospital. People are urging that measures be taken to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.

Tensions in the village are palpable and there is a heavy police presence this morning.

Witnesses to the tragic incident continue to claim that the delay in the ambulance was one of the causes of the girl’s death, BNT reported.

There were loud brakes, crashes, this is not the first accident, a lot has happened. I ran outside quickly to see what was happening. A red car was parked here on the sidewalk, Moni lying on the road. I was then told that they had hit her on the sidewalk, which is much lower. Moni had a pretty strong pulse, but she wasn’t breathing. Her mouth was turning blue, so I started artificial respiration in an instant, the color began to return to her lips, her pulse became quite strong for a while, then I was replaced by Ina here, to take a breath, she continued with Mont’s artificial respiration.and, “said an eyewitness to the incident.

The woman said that during this break she saw another call to the ambulance. The first call is at 11:38 and the last at 11:52.

“After those 14 minutes, I went back to do this artificial respiration of the child. The ambulance did not come. I could not detect how long it took for the ambulance to arrive. The people from the village say that more than 30 minutes passed before the ambulance passed.” said an eyewitness to the incident.

Ina, who also witnessed the accident, said she saw a car pass by at over 90 km / h.

“All that was heard in the commotion was: When will this ambulance come? Indeed, the ambulance arrived quite late,” Ina continued.

Last night the people from Bratanitsa gathered at the place where the child died. They said people should drive in a way that keeps all children on the road, as if it were their child. This is not the first accident in this place. A few months ago, another person was hit and died. In 2018, another child was killed on a footpath in the village.

Yesterday, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Pazardzhik announced that the driver was detained and a blood sample was taken for the presence of alcohol and drugs. However, the prosecution declined to give his name.
