Which influencers have the most fake followers?

Influencer marketing can pay off really big. Thus, we recently mentioned the case of these celebrities who were able to earn millions of dollars thanks to the publication of a few dozen sponsored tweets. In this area, contracts are sold at a high price and the number of followers of an influencer plays a huge role in his notoriety and his ability to negotiate with advertisers.

The public is very sensitive on this subject

In the past, several scandals have arisen after some of them were caught buying fake followers. To see more clearly what it is today, analysts from All Home Connections conducted a study on this subject. They tried to gauge the credibility of the big celebrity audience on Instagram and Twitter. A list of 20 profiles follows and allows to see those who have the most fake profiles in their audience.

Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the latter cheated and everyone can see that fake accounts can follow anyone, from the most famous man or woman to the average user.

When it comes to Instagram, the top five spots are taken by the profiles of Kourtney Kardashian, Katy Perry, Neymar, Nicki Minaj, and Miley Cyrus, who have 28% and 27% fake followers, respectively.

As for Twitter, we find in the first positions Amitabh Bachchan, Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Taylor Swift. The levels of false followers here are more alarming and vary between 46 and 58%.

These results are all the more important given that according to a survey carried out in addition to this study, 80% of people questioned would see their favorite online personality differently if they had fake followers. Brands can also be affected since 75% of respondents would stop buying products promoted by influencers who have bought followers.

This problem has been taken into account by the giants of the web who have been ignoring fake accounts for several years and regularly publicize the deletion of profiles whose behavior is deemed inauthentic.
