At first it was said that they were of no use. Then suddenly everyone wanted one. When it came to face masks, public opinion turned more abruptly than on almost any other topic last year. Claudia Tuscher is one of the people who experienced this first hand. In March 2020, the couture tailor exhibited her fabrics, patterns and busts at a horse tournament in Dielsdorf, which was canceled after two days due to the lockdown decision.
Back in Wülflingen, the first rejections arrived. From one day to the next, it was neither possible to try on fittings in the studio nor to visit the house, for example for cloakroom checks: “At first it was a big shock,” says Tuscher. She particularly mourned the commission for a Belle Époque dress. The dress should match the carriage with which the customer takes part in nostalgic driving tournaments.
