A stagnant incidence rate on a high plateau. This is the prefectural observation in view of the data of Public health France why Monday, April 19, 2021. Despite the partial containment, the level of the covid-19 pandemic in the Loire is struggling to decline. With 435 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the department is indeed one of those where the virus and its variants circulate the most in France.
The hospital blood pressure also remains high, at 116% of initial resuscitation capacities. Some 551 patients are currently hospitalized in the department for covid-19, including 81 in shifts. Yet at the national level, the pandemic seems to be declining slightly with an incidence rate of less than 1 (0.97). This is particularly the case in the neighboring Rhône department.
Less than one in five people in Niger received a first dose
In the Loire and in particular in Saint Etienne the pandemic therefore remains significant. The fault, as elsewhere, with a vaccination campaign which struggles to take off. Less than 20% of the population received even a first dose of vaccine. Is less than 150,000 of the more than 760,000 Ligériens.
Low vaccination coverage therefore, but no more than in the rest of the country, except for some good students such as Alpes-Maritimes (more than 25%). Rhône, Ain and Isère are also below 20%. A milestone just crossed in the departments of Auvergne.
Where to get vaccinated?
New vaccination centers must make it possible to ramp up as the partial confinement enters its last two weeks. This is the case of the one who opens to Roanne this Monday, in the Scarabée room, with 17 vaccination lines. But reservations go quickly.
Fifteen centers are currently open throughout the department. Find the closest to you on the government website.
