Prison Threatens To Force Hunger Strike Navalny To Eat | Abroad

Navalny, 44, went on a hunger strike at the end of March because he would not receive adequate care for his back and leg complaints in prison. His health is deteriorating rapidly, according to his lawyers. Navalny wants to be examined by a doctor of his choice, but that is not allowed.

Navalny has lost 8 kilos since the start of his hunger strike, according to his team. In total he would have lost 15 kilos since his imprisonment in a penal colony some 100 kilometers from Moscow.

Prison sentence
