The Sports Federation of Senegal says it is forced to withdraw from the qualifiers due to the economic and social crisis that is going on in the country.
The IHF writes that it will not replace Senegal but that Sweden’s group will consist of the remaining three teams: Spain, Argentina and Sweden.
Two out of three nations advance from the qualifiers, which means that Sweden’s path to the Olympics in Tokyo has now become much easier.
Sweden begins the qualifier with a match against Spain on Friday 19 March 21.00. The next day, Argentina is waiting.
