The American singer Lady Gaga gets a namesake. A newly discovered insect has been given the name Gaga by an American student because of its appearance.
American Brendan Morris, a student at the University of Illinois at America, has discovered a new insect originally from Nicaragua. The animal now lives as a Kaikaia gaga, because of her special appearance, just like singer Lady Gaga. That reports Page Six.
“Sense of fashion”
The student found the animal while examining about 1,000 bugs from an insect family in a museum in Pittsburgh. “If an animal is named after Lady Gaga, it must be a special one. And that is the case, because of the striking horns that the female insect has. It’s like she has a fashion sense, something Gaga has too. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful, ”says Brendan.

Lady Gaga isn’t the first to see her name appear on an insect. Last month, a new snail was named after climate activist Greta. The bands Metallica and Pink Floyd also got a creature named after them.
