New York, Beritasatu.com– A total of 2,259 children have registered for the Covid-19 vaccine trial Pfizer and BioNTech for children aged 12-15 years. This was stated by the company to CNBC.

“Children can still get sick and die from Covid-19,” said Director of the Center for Vaccine Education and an infectious disease doctor at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Paul Offit.
Throughout 2020, many children died from Covid-19 and influenza. “We recommend vaccines for children,” he said.
The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) previously approved vaccines for emergency use in children over 16 years of age.
Pfizer and BioNTech are known to be the first vaccine developers to include trials in children. Meanwhile Moderna and AstraZeneca have also declared vaccine trials in children.
Wall Street Journal explained that some experts are not sure that the Covid-19 vaccine for children can be present in the 2021 school year, considering that the trial time needed could be long.
