As you might expect, the striker Ilya Kovalchuk will join the team of his former head coach Bob Hartley at the Avangard Omsk. The Russian has signed up for two seasons with the KHL team and should therefore no longer play in NHL.
The 37-year-old former New Jersey Devils player had a turbulent last season with a start in Los Angeles and two exchanges in Montreal, then Washington.
