Amid transport disruptions caused by the cargo union strike, the government and the cargo union agreed to sit down and negotiate tomorrow (28).

The government plans to ask for an unconditional return, but if talks fail, it should sooner or later issue an order to resume work.

In a situation where concerns are growing about transport disruptions due to the cargo union strike, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong looked for companies that were expected to suffer damage and checked whether there were any they were problems.

From the construction site using the cement, they repeatedly urged the loading union with a card to activate the work start order, saying that the construction risked being stopped.

Cargo Solidale and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, whose positions are still parallel, have decided to sit down for the first time since Monday’s strike.

The official conversation only lasted about 2 weeks out of the last 15 days.

Although a round table has been set up, the prospects for negotiations are bleak as the cargo union, which calls for the abolition of the safe freight rate sunset system and the expansion of articles, and the government which does not they can accept it.

If there is no progress in the negotiations and the strike continues, the government plans to take steps to order work to begin.

We’re looking at ways to selectively get started with industries like cement and ready-mix concrete that are expected to suffer significant damage right away.

A senior government official told YTN the agenda was unlikely to be raised at the Cabinet meeting on the 29th as negotiations need to be observed and data prepared to prove the harm.

However, he said if the damage escalates, a temporary cabinet meeting may even be held later in the week to make a decision.

However, the key is that the government must demonstrate that the procedure for delivering this order to individual borrowers remains after termination and that the damage caused by the refusal to carry is serious.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport also warned it would find the perpetrators and take severe punishment for the incidents in which stones flew and damaged trucks that normally operated at Busan New Port.
