As the United Nations sanctions against North Korea and the corona 19 situation prolonged, there are no signs of North Korean cyber provocations at home and abroad.
It is feared that hacking attacks aimed at money such as cryptocurrency will increase not only for Corona 19 vaccine information but also for economic crisis.

In November of last year, Microsoft said it had detected a cyber attack targeting seven pharmaceutical companies researching COVID-19 vaccines and treatments.
Hackers who aimed for vaccine research information of pharmaceutical companies were identified as three groups, including Zynq in North Korea.
The NIS also blocked attempts by North Korean groups to hack domestic vaccine companies last year.
Last year, there were an average of 1.6 million cyber attacks by public institutions per day, of which more than 90% are estimated to be North Korean actions.

The problem is that hacking aimed at stealing foreign currency is also increasing to raise funds for nuclear and missile development.
In its recent annual report, the United Nations Sanctions Commission on North Korea pointed out that “hackers linked to North Korea continued to engage in hacking activities against financial institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges.”
It is estimated that the amount of cryptocurrency earned from such hacking is more than 300 billion dollars per year and 350 billion won in our money.
