Over 140,000 people are expected to visit Jeju during the holiday season from yesterday to coming Sunday.
The number of tourists decreased by 32% compared to the same period last year.
Still, as the 3rd pandemic progresses, it is a lot when you think about what tourists gave us as 20,000 people a day.
Yesterday, over 31,000 people came to Jeju.
During the Lunar New Year holidays, reservations are concentrated mainly on luxury hotels and golf courses.
Tourists also stand out in famous tourist spots and beaches.
The rape field that bloomed ahead of spring is enjoying great popularity.
Tourists have a pleasant time, but Jeju Island is putting all efforts into quarantine, such as operating a general control room during the holidays.
Recently, three tourists have been confirmed, and tensions are growing.
In particular, one patient had symptoms and was tested in Seoul, and before the results came out, he traveled to Jeju and was finally confirmed.
One other family member who traveled with him was also infected, and it turned out that he had violated the ban on gatherings of five or more, so the authorities decided to sue the police for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.
Earlier, Governor Won Hee-ryong said that he would refrain from visiting Jeju during the holiday season.
If it is unavoidable to visit Jeju, it has been advised to undergo a corona19 test three days before the visit.
Jeju-do is planning to actively respond by violating this, visiting and spreading the infection.
Also, starting on the 6th, tourists who submit a negative judgment confirmation through a pre-entry inspection can visit 29 public tourist attractions in Jeju Island, such as Seongsan Ilchulbong, for free.
Yesterday, four patients, including one tourist, occurred in Jeju.
