Yesterday (20th) there was a big forest fire in Jeongseon, and the forest authorities are working on extinguishing it for the second day.
As it darkened yesterday, we focused on evacuating the helicopter, building a proliferation barrier overnight, and preventing further damage.
The fire occurred at Nochusan in Yeoryang-myeon, Jeongseon-gun, around 3:50 pm yesterday.
However, the fire site was a steep slope where it was difficult to put in manpower, and it was difficult to extinguish with a strong wind of 6.2 meters per second.
Afterwards, about 300 people were put in, and it was converted to a night-time firefighting system by creating a stop line for diffusion.
There are 16 residents of 4 households under the mountain, and there have been no casualties or damage to facilities to date.
The Forest Service announced that it will mobilize 14 helicopters waiting in the vicinity at the same time as the sunrise, and will resume full-fledged extinguishing work with the goal of catching the big fire by 10 am.
