It was confirmed that Cho Doo-soon, who was released after serving as a child sex offender, receives about 1.2 million won per month as a welfare benefit.
As this became known, voices against them are growing, saying that they should not be given benefits.

Cho Doo-soon, who was released after finishing his sentence in December last year.
Doo-soon Cho applied for Basic Pension and Basic Livelihood Security Benefits paid to seniors aged 65 or older five days after he was released.
Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, initiated the examination and recognized Mr. Cho’s eligibility for receipt last month, which was about a month later.
Ansan City judged that Mr. Cho was over 65 years old and was unable to work, and his spouse was under 65, but found it difficult to find employment due to chronic illness.
In addition, because there are no houses owned by the couple and they meet the relevant legal standards, they have no choice but to pay.

Accordingly, the various welfare benefits that the Cho Doo-soon couple receives from last month is 1.2 million won per month.
The basic pension is 300,000 won, living wages 620,000 won, and housing benefits 260,000 won.
In this regard, a petition was posted on the Cheong Wa Dae’s public petition bulletin board asking Doo-soon Cho not to provide support for basic living expenses, and more than 70,000 people agreed.
As Jo Doo-soon committed an unacceptable crime, there are growing voices that he should not pay taxes even by changing the current law.
