– Starting on Monday, the 15th, the operating hours for multi-use facilities such as restaurants in the metropolitan area will be eased from 9 pm to 10 pm. However, the guidelines for banning private gatherings with more than 5 people will remain the same for the time being.
On the 13th, the government presided over a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters for Corona 19 Response at the Government Complex in Seoul and announced a plan to adjust distance. The metropolitan area was lowered to the 2nd stage, and the non-metropolitan area to 1.5 levels. This adjustment will take effect for two weeks starting on the 15th.
Even though the number of confirmed cases is 403 as of the 12th, and the spread is still not falling, it is interpreted that there is a strong backlash from self-employed people behind the government’s easing of business hours in the metropolitan area. Last week, the 9 p.m. business time limit was eased to 10 p.m. for non-metropolitan areas, while some merchants in the metropolitan area held a ‘opening demonstration’ and strongly opposed it.
