[사회]Sandbox cancels contract with YouTuber who falsely exposed food reuse

Sandbox, a public channel network company, terminated the contract with the famous YouTuber’White Tree’, who closed the restaurant due to false disclosure of food reuse.

On the 18th, Sandbox issued a statement and apologized, saying, “I deeply sympathize with the pain of the damaged restaurant representative and the employees, and I sincerely apologize for this.”

“Sandbox places great importance on the social responsibility and ethical content production of each creator. Therefore, Sandbox has decided to terminate the contract with’White Tree’ as of today.” Sandbox said, “We will continue to help and support for the resolution of this problem and normal business activities of the damaged restaurant even after the contract termination for this incident that occurred during the period of White Tree’s membership.”

Sandbox added, “We promise to thoroughly educate the internal creators’ code of ethics so that their creators can feel their social responsibility and engage in ethical creative activities, and continuously monitor them to prevent further damages.”

‘White Tree’, a foodie YouTuber with more than 600,000 subscribers, raised suspicion of food reuse in the restaurant in a video of a visit to a restaurant with all-you-can-eat soy sauce crab posted on the 7th. Afterwards, the allegations of food reuse were found to be untrue, but the restaurant was in a state of irreparable damage as it was impossible to do business with protest calls.

Afterwards, the owner of the soy sauce crab appealed to the Cheongwadae public petition bulletin board for resentment, saying, “Please help prevent YouTubers from being mistreated and tyranny with laws and systems.” As of the 19th, more than 43,000 people participated in the petition.
