Grieving families who have lost loved ones in an instant in this Itaewon disaster are engulfed in indescribable grief.
The process of finding out where they were transported was not easy, but it was even more difficult to accept the baby’s return to the body.

Funeral home of the Ilsan Hospital of Dongguk University, where the largest number of victims of the Itaewon disaster in Seoul are kept.
The family members enter the waiting room one after the other.
There are bereaved families who mourn holding hands.
A father who has been wandering around the hospital for over four hours to find his daughter.
He sighs deeply for the death of his precious daughter and cannot easily continue his words.
[이태원 참사 유가족 : 오늘 낮에 12시쯤 반쯤, 한 시쯤 연락받았어요 (어디 병원 간 건지?) 몰랐죠, 전혀 몰랐죠. 찾아 헤맸죠. 순천향대학교 병원 가서.]
The situation at Soonchunhyang University Hospital, which is closest to the disaster site, is not much different.
Under close police supervision, anxious family members make it difficult to move to the funeral home.
Even after confirming the fact of death, there are bereaved families who do not know the hospital and put their feet up.
[이태원 참사 사망자 유가족 지인 : 실종 종합상황실은 전화 받지도 않고 다음에 다시 걸어달라고 하고 끊기고 결국은 여기 다시 왔는데, (여기는) 시신 6구가 있는데 그중에는 없다는 거예요.]
A foreigner who only learned that a friend has died and two are being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital still cannot believe the tragedy of the tragedy.
[네이든 / 이태원 참사 사망자·중상자 지인 : 오늘 아침 친구 가족에게 친구가 숨졌다고 전해야만 했어요. 친구가 맞는지 확인하기 위해 시신을 덮은 천을 들춰봤더니 친구 얼굴이었어요.]
Following the news of the disaster, some came to visit friends who had long since lost touch.
[이태원 참사 실종자 지인(스리랑카 국적) : 저랑 같이 어젯밤에 9시까지 있었어요. (연락이 안 되는 거예요?) 네. 연락이 안 되는데 휴대전화를 잃어버려서….]
[이태원 참사 실종자 지인(베트남 국적) : 연락도 없어요. 인적사항도 확인할 수가 없으니까. (마지막 연락은 어떻게 했는지?) 15시간 전에 연락했었는데 지금은 끊어졌어요.]
The deceased were transported to the funeral home of 42 hospitals, including Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital.
The burial site could not be set up in time as large numbers of deaths occurred in an instant, delaying identification.
