[문화]This year’s highest bid at a domestic auction house is Yayoi Kusama’s “Pumpkin”…7.6 billion won

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s work ‘Pumpkin’ set the record for the highest price at a national auction house this year.

The Seoul auction announced that Yayoi Kusama’s green gourd work, which is the size of no. 80, was sold for 7.6 billion won, including fees, at the Hong Kong auction held the day before yesterday (29).

The works of world-renowned artist Yayoi Kusama, especially those depicting pumpkins, are considered representative safe assets in our art world.

Seoul Auction’s Hong Kong auction, which was held over two and a half years by linking the Gangnam Center and the Hong Kong bidding counter, had a successful bid rate of 65% and a total of about 12, 5 billion KRW in successful deals.
