When the United States held the large-scale US-Africa summit for the first time in eight years and launched a gift offensive, China, which had been working hard on Africa, began to check.

The United States has invited the heads of 49 countries and the delegation of the African Union (AU) to deal with Africa, where relations have weakened during the Trump presidency.
We also announced in advance our plan to unpack gift packages worth 70 trillion won in three years.

The US move to hold a super-large event attracts more attention as it opens just after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Saudi Arabia, a US ally, and made significant gains last week.
China has reacted sensitively and warned against the exploitation of Africa.

In the race for Africa, China effectively has the upper hand.
China has chosen Africa as its foreign minister’s first overseas trip every year and is building presidential palaces and offices of international organizations in African countries.
According to the African Youth Generation Survey Report released in June, China’s influence was greater than that of the United States.
The size of the trade is also different.
Last year, China’s trade with Africa was $261 billion, four times that of the United States (just $64 billion).
This is the result of China’s constant efforts while the United States neglected Africa after the collapse of the Cold War.
Africa’s reaction is noteworthy as the US Biden administration is in full swing.
