[국제]”Myanmar police fired firearms at protesters again…three wounded”

[앵커]

In Myanmar, after a week of massive anti-coup protests, police fired firearms at protesters within three days, injuring three people.

The military pardoned about 23,000 prisoners on the occasion of’Union Day’, which calls for multi-ethnic harmony, but it caused concern by including extreme right people.

Police rush toward protesters in Molamin, a coastal city in southeastern Myanmar.

As they grab and strike a protester in the head, the protesters throw stones at the police.

Then immediately the gunfire follows.

“Bang Bang”

Reuters reported that three people were shot, citing the words of the local Red Cross.

The AFP news agency also said the police fired rubber bullets at college student protesters and arrested more than five people.

The news agency also reported that on holidays, hundreds of thousands of people around Myanmar shouted to overthrow the military dictatorship.

“Which party did you shoot?” “We took the NLD of the Democratic Peoples Alliance!” “Who is our President now?” “President Yun Min!”

Supreme Commander Min Aung Hlaing told officials who participated in the civil disobedience movement for two days in a row to return to work immediately, but officials in essential industries such as teachers, bureaucrats and air controllers also went on the streets.

Prior to this, the military pardoned about 23,000 prisoners in prison on the occasion of’Union Day’, which called for multi-ethnic harmony.

However, as it is known that far-rights are included in the pardon, some are interpreted that the military is trying to secure support and pressure the protesters.

The Myanmar Political Prison Support Association has also expressed concern that “isn’t the sudden release to secure space to accommodate protesters?”

The Political Criminal Support Association estimates that more than 260 people have been detained in the military after the coup.
