Israel, the world’s top COVID-19 vaccine vaccination rate, has announced that it will secure additional vaccines that are more than three times the amount it has previously purchased.
It is a plan to prepare for the worst in advance, saying that it is not known how long the efficacy of the vaccine will last.

Israel, which has been the fastest vaccinating COVID-19 vaccine in the world, has decided to secure an additional 36 million doses of vaccine.
This is more than three times the amount Israel currently has, for 10 million batches.
Prime Minister Netanyahu told a press briefing that no one knows how long the vaccine will last.
Because of this, he said he may have to get the vaccine again every six months.
The short duration of antibodies from the vaccine may require additional doses.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said the world will be competing for the vaccine, and he said he plans to put Israel at the forefront.
He added that they are discussing building a factory with Pfizer and Modena, saying that they will build a vaccine manufacturing plant exclusively for Israel.
Currently, more than half of the total population of 9.3 million people in Israel, 4.72 million people have completed the first dose, of which 3.36 million people have completed the second dose.
However, an uneasy situation continues as the number of new confirmed cases increases again within a week after easing the containment measures on the 21st of last month.
