China is watching the coup in Myanmar, but there is no reason to act, and observations have been made that it will wait a step away until the situation subsides.
The Hong Kong South China Morning Post today (2nd) quoted a Chinese military source and reported that “China will only watch the situation in Myanmar and will do nothing.”
The source said the coup could disrupt China’s business in Myanmar, but it will not have a bigger impact as many businesses are already suspended or delayed due to the severe Corona 19 situation in Myanmar.
He added that to date, the Chinese military does not believe that the situation in Myanmar will affect Chinese territory or even the Chinese people.
China is Myanmar’s largest trading partner and Myanmar’s second largest investor after Singapore.
