It is 2020, which was difficult due to the coronavirus, but in the night sky at the end of the year, a colorful and rare space show appears like a gift of comfort.

Jupiter and Saturn are the closest in over 800 years, following the Gemini meteor shower with over a hundred shooting stars per hour.

Reporter Jeong Hye-yoon reports.

The last chance to see the most shooting stars of the year comes.

It is Gemini meteor shower, one of the four major meteor showers.

The earth passes through the debris sprayed by the asteroid ‘3200 Phaeton’ and appears at the end of each year.

The peak of the Gemini meteor shower is 9:50 am on the 14th.

You can see up to 150 shooting stars per hour.

The peak atmosphere is daytime, so it is impossible to observe, but from the night of the 13th to the night of the 14th, it is old, so you can fully enjoy the meteor shower at night.

On the evening of the 17th, Jupiter and Saturn appear on the right side of the crescent moon in the southwest, approaching each other.

Jupiter and Saturn get closer as time goes by.

On the 21st, on the evening of the winter solstice, which is the longest night at night, the two stars look like one star.

This is the first time in 800 years to see two stars that have reached this level.

You can see it with the naked eye, but if you observe it with a telescope, you will be able to see Jupiter and Saturn as well as the large moons of the two planets from one view.
