Now, for the 60 days before the final approval, the two sides are expected to negotiate to find an agreement instead of before the litigation.
Above all, the key is how to determine the size of the settlement amount, which is about 3 trillion won and hundreds of billions of won.

A’century lawsuit’ in the U.S. by LG and SK over the infringement of electric vehicle battery trade secrets.
The U.S. International Trade Commission, ITC, ruled over LG and banned SK battery imports and production in the U.S. for 10 years.
The last variable now is President Joe Biden’s veto.
The ITC decision is finalized after a 60-day presidential deliberation, which can be denied approval if it is determined that the judgment violates the public interest.
The governor of Georgia, where SK Innovation is building a large-scale factory, said the decision was a big blow and demanded the president’s veto.
However, it is unlikely that there has been no veto to infringe trade secrets.
Therefore, SK Innovation has no choice but to proceed with an agreement with LG Energy Solutions for the remaining two months until final approval.
With the size of the settlement money, which is the key, both sides have run parallel.
It is known that LG Energy Solutions demanded about 3 trillion won, while SK Innovation raised hundreds of billions of won.

SK Innovation said that it is difficult to realistically raise the settlement funds that LG wants, and has also suggested that it has proposed a plan that will help LG in addition to the settlement money.
