The staff doctor exercises his mission in favor of the staff under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education, assigned to the 1st and 2nd degree educational establishments as well as to the decentralized services of the Ille et Vilaine department.

He is placed under the hierarchical authority of the rector of the Rennes academy and is functionally attached to the medical adviser to the rector.

The activity of the personnel doctor is an integral part of the academic policy of human resources management. He works in close collaboration with the director of human resources of the academy, as well as with all the actors and services in the field of “human resources” – in particular the personnel management divisions.

He participates in the various steering bodies.

The staff physician has access to all staff workplaces.

As part of his medical expertise, the staff doctor advises the administration and staff on health, safety and working conditions for the various national education professions. As such, it is also associated with the analysis of professional risks as well as the causes of work accidents and occupational diseases, and their remediation.

The personnel physician works in close collaboration with the ISST, the academic prevention advisor and the occupational psychologist.

He is an ex-officio member of the departmental CHSCT.

The staff doctor consults staff in difficulty for health reasons impacting professional life.

It informs the academic authority of its recommendations for taking into account the health needs of its consultants in the professional context.

At the request of the academic authority, he gives an opinion on the compatibility between the state of health and the exercise of the missions, and, if necessary, on the need to seize the departmental medical committee and shares his recommendations. .

The staff doctor contributes to the follow-up of staff identified by the administrative authority as having working conditions presenting a health risk.

It contributes to the successful professional integration of personnel benefiting from the employment obligation and to the monitoring of their working conditions. It also monitors staff who develop a disability during their career.

It consolidates the special monitoring system (SMP) for personnel exposed to the risks associated with asbestos or wood dust.

It improves the follow-up of personnel on long-term sick leave in order to support either resumption of duty, redeployment or disability.

The staff doctor advises the administration and staff on:
– Workstation layouts.
– Career paths related to the health situation, and in particular on the development of retraining and professional reclassification projects.

The staff doctor ensures, whenever necessary, liaison with the departmental medical committees and reform commissions.

The staff doctor proposes information and training actions that are integrated into the annual prevention programme. He participates as needed.
