A perfume enthusiast has created quite a stir on TikTok by sharing her discovery of a fragrance with the unmistakable scent of Coca-Cola.

Under this premise, the perfume market and skin care in general is a dynamic and constantly changing sector that reflects the changing preferences of consumers.

Today, there is a wide range of products, ranging from those intended for skin, hair, to makeup, perfumes and other toiletries. This extensive offer, combined with the overcoming of certain stereotypes and the growing impact of influencersespecially among younger generations, has led to the flourishing of the cosmetics industry worldwide in recent years.

In accordance with Statesmanas for the country with the greatest devotion to the use of beauty products, Japan stands out above all, which precisely holds that title, and each Japanese citizen invests, on average, around 295 euros in the purchase of makeup, perfumes and various creams. However, despite the prominent position of East Asia, it is the northern hemisphere that exerts the greatest influence on the cosmetics sector globally. In 2022, more than 30 percent of the total volume of the global cosmetics market came from this geographical region, leaving North America and Europe at a distance of more than eight percentage points, especially in the case of the latter. The third position in relevance for the Old Continent is not surprising. After all, many of the leading companies in the industry have their roots within its borders, with Germany and France standing out in particular, which continue to be the two largest European markets in the cosmetics industry today.
