Open Day of the Observatory 2022 丨 Free visit to the Observatory Headquarters with link for registering the appointment

The Observatory will hold an open day on 26 and 27 November to present the work of the Observatory and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Contents of the Open Day Observatory

The 2022 Open Day Observatory adopts this year’s World Meteorological Day theme “Early warning, early action. Meteorological and hydrological information helps prevent and mitigate disasters” and sets up an exhibition to present how the Observatory applies the new technologies to provide various services, including weather forecasting, aviation meteorology, microclimate monitoring and radiation monitoring.

Dates of the Open Day Observatory

Date: 26 and 27 November (Saturday and Sunday)

Hours: from 9:00 to 17:00

Visiting period: 9: 00-10: 00, 10: 15-11: 15, 12: 15-13: 15, 13: 30-14: 30, 14: 45-15: 45, 16: 00-17: 00

Open Day reservation of the Observatory

Citizens attending the Open Day must register online in advance and each person can get up to 4 entrance tickets for free. If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, it will be processed via computer lottery.Open from today until 12 noon on 8 November, the public can visitFor registration, winners will receive a QR code entrance ticket by email by 21 November.

Location and transport of the Open Day Observatory

The headquarters of the Observatory is located on a hill in the center of Tsim Sha Tsui.The building has a Victorian style and was declared a monument in Hong Kong in 1984.
