The group “DivDiv” releases a single, an animated video and announces concerts

The group “DivDiv” has released the single “Kastes”, which also has a stylish, animated video version, which will remind the generation of the 80s and 90s of the computer games of those times.

The new rock song “Kastes” and its accompanying video are kept in the aesthetics of the 8-bit era, making references to computer games and pixel art. The group “DivDiv” will perform the new single and other songs at three summer concerts: on July 22 at the “Saldus Saule” festival in Saldus Kalnsėta park, on August 5 at the “Fontaine Rock City” club in Pāvilost and on August 13 at “Liepāja Lake Music” at the new creative yard in Kuršu on the street.

The origins of the “DivDiv” group can be traced back to 2015. The basic creative activity of its members takes place in other collectives, both in classical and popular music, as well as outside the domestic music industry. Thus, different worlds meet in the band’s music, resulting in an unusual and even unique sound. Dainis Melniks, Justs Markuševskis, Roberts Dinters, Mārtiņš Zālīte, Āriks Hanzovskis and Jānis Straume still refer to themselves as full-fledged participants of “DivDiv” with Kurzemski confidence. “Kastes” is the band’s fifth single.

“Our vision for the new piece was formed as a reference to the flow of time today, which obligates a person to be a part of a big time planning conveyor,” says Dainis Melniks, the band’s guitarist. “We all loved 8-bit computer games as kids, where there were always conveyor belts with boxes and robots running it all. In the song, these are references to today, when a large part of our lives is packed in boxes on the same conveyor belt.”
