Square Enix opens YouTube channel with soundtracks from Final Fantasy, Nier and more

Square Enix now has a YouTube channel entirely dedicated to its game soundtracks. In a somewhat unexpected way, the channel appeared on the platform, acting as an aggregator of several playlists for the songs of several of the producer’s classics.

The channel separates the playlists by franchises, offering tracks for the series Final Fantasy, Chrono, Deny there you go. But the songs are not restricted to their official versions available in the games, with some playlists also including rearranged releases or other versions of the original tracks that have been approved by Square Enix.

There is really a huge amount of music, including super old games like the first Final Fantasy. And the producer didn’t just stick to its greatest hits, bringing the OST even from Balan Wonderworld.

But that doesn’t mean you’ll find the music of every game ever made by Square Enix. The late Parasite Eve, for example, were left out. As the channel appeared somewhat “out of nowhere”, we still don’t have more detailed information if we can expect new additions in the near future.

It is also worth noting that the Square Enix Music Channel seems to have been organized by Japanese representatives of the production company, so most of the playlists and videos have their names in Japanese. But it shouldn’t be hard to find the trail you’re looking for. Be sure to comment here which one is your favorite!
