the caterpillars and butterflies point to flowers in artistic perfection, not
only designed by myself, but also engraved myself with great love and great skill.
Nice, wide-margined copy with magnificent deep coppers, as only found in early
print occur.
Large and fine copy of this most valuable volume, which is remarkable for the 100 fine
plates of high artistic value, executed with greatest care by Sibylla Merian (1647—1717),
daughter of the famous Matth. Merian.
The above work is not only of entomological interest as it may appear from
the title, but is equally important from the botanical point of view, the flowers and
plants being equally well represented together with the Caterpillars and butterflies.
