Apple could announce the dates for WWDC 2021 at any time now. As we explained earlier, the company announces when its Global Developer Conference will be held at this time each year. This year we are expecting iOS 15, watchOS 8 and more …
Apple delayed WWDC for a few weeks last year. Instead of being early June, it was closer to the end of the month. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event, for the first time, took place entirely online.
For WWDC 2021, we still don’t know for sure how Apple will handle in-person events and if they are going to happen, but what we can expect in WWDC 2021 are new operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Mac. , Apple Watch and Apple TV will be unveiled.
For this year, we’ll probably see the introductions of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15.
We still don’t know much about these updates, but some of the things on my wishlist include:
iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 should receive a new interface update. The app icons should be closer to those of macOS Big Sur, with Apple moving from the flat design to a Neo-Skeuomorphic style. For the watchOS 8, our colleague Parker Ortolani gave us some ideas of what to expect here. As we always get watchOS updates, expect more watch faces, drills, and an even more powerful Apple Maps with an improved Siri. For macOS 12, we should have an OS more focused on Apple Silicon Macs, but I’m just hoping for a more stable version of the software, as happened with macOS High Sierra. Finally, for tvOS 15, yes you have it: new live wallpapers. Other than that, who knows what to expect. Some possibilities include better integration with HomeKit, new tweaks for HomePod, and that’s probably it.
Of course, as Apple announces WWDC 2021 and the keynote takes place, we’re going to see a lot of new things. We also got to see some new hardware, as the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR were showcased at WWDC 2019.
Tell us in the poll below: Which new OS are you most excited to see unveiled at WWDC 2021?
