Ex-Partner with Nine Criminal Records Kills Woman for Property: Femicide Case Details Revealed

Eduardo Mérida, lawyer for the family of Rocío Grájeda, a victim of femicide, reported this Tuesday that the ex-partner had nine criminal records dating back more than four years. He reported that the main reason for her deed is that they wanted to “strip her of her property” from her.

Mérida had contact with Buena Noche de Opinión Bolivia and stated that her ex-partner and her family were trying to take away her property, including dump trucks, machines and others. Likewise, he indicated that the defendants are in preventive detention, but that they plead not guilty.

“Her ex-partner had nine records, the other (defendant) had five records, including homicides… They are in indefinite detention… But there are more elements to collect, weapons, connection elements, expertise, they claim to be innocent … We are going to have to continue walking down the serious path of oral proceedings,” he said.

He added that these records that the defendants have date back more than four years, not only with physical violence, but also with psychological violence.

“This dates back four years or so, there was not only physical violence, he wanted to strip her of everything, he wanted to take away all her property, she wanted to take her home… All these assets were in the names of both of them, but they were being skillfully exchanged in the name of relatives of his expesoso”.

According to the lawyer, the event occurred on August 3. The victim went to a house with her husband, her son and her brother. Her ex-husband, her brother and her father also went to the compound, they blocked the door with a dump truck.

As soon as they entered, she says, they physically assaulted Rocío, then Rocío’s brother tries to defend her and confronts Erick, who pulls out a revolver and shoots her in the leg. The victim tries to defend him and her ex-husband shoots her in the lung.

The victim tries to escape in a taxi, but again the father and ex-husband drag her to avoid fleeing, until she loses her life.
