Art al vent: 20 Years of Resistance, Originality, and Avant-Garde Textile Art Exhibition in Spain

“Art al vent”, the most important textile art exhibition in the street in Spain, is now 20 years old. This sample is an example of resistance and originality and avant-garde. The messages are always very powerful.

The exposure of the Calle La Bassa, whose balconies hang works of art, is connected to its time. The artists (from fifteen countries, but united by creativity and concerns) portray today’s problems and formulate bold reflections.

The show asks for that courage. Gata de Gorgos transforms the tradition of hanging the blankets on holidays into useful and committed art. It’s nice to walk down this street. Art is a gale, fresh air.

In this edition, there are three fabrics created in Gata. One is the Tapis workshop, in which the Escola de Pintura Experimental A. Vives has collaborated. Another, Maria Cots. And the third is that of Pepa Caselles, an artist who has been participating since the first edition in 2004.
