Italy enters the fourth wave of COVID-19

Italy has entered the fourth wave of coronavirus infection, ANSA reported. This is the conclusion of experts from the independent health foundation Gimbe, bTV reports.

The report says that between July 21 and 27, deaths from COVID-19 in Italy increased by 46 percent after a 15-week decline. Thus, the victims of the virus have become 111 compared to 76 in the previous period.

The number of newly infected increased by 64.8% during the study period and reached 31,963 compared to 19,390 in the previous period.

The report said there was a 42.9 percent increase in the number of people in isolation due to virus infection, a 34.9 percent increase in the number of hospitalized coronavirus patients, and a 14.5 percent increase in coronavirus patients in intensive care units.
