Portugal registers 266 more cases and 4 deaths by Covid-19 – O Jornal Económico

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) confirmed, this Monday, another 266 positive diagnoses of Covid-19 and 4 fatalities, in the last 24 hours. Thus, the total number of confirmed cases stands at 41,912 while the number of deaths is now 1,564.

The Region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley again confirms the highest number of infections, confirming 225 more in relation to the previous day’s data. In total, there are now 18,977 confirmed infections. The number of fatalities from the new coronavirus in the Lisbon region increased to 468, plus three fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours in this region.

In the new DGS epidemiological bulletin, we learn of the existence of 139 more recovered cases, thus totaling the number of recoveries to 27,205. As for the number of people hospitalized, another 31 people were hospitalized and another 4 were in intensive care.

This Monday, a new case was detected in the Azores on the island of São Miguel. This is a woman, “42 years old, not resident in the Azores, who landed in the region on 27 June, coming from an air connection with the mainland”, added the Regional Health Authority.
