Veteran‘s Resume review at Jonas Brothers Concert Goes Viral, Leads to Job Connection
BUFFALO, N.Y. – A man named Scott Kelly became an overnight internet sensation after a concertgoer filmed him having his resume reviewed by a stranger mid-show at a Jonas Brothers concert in Buffalo, New York, on November 9. The video quickly went viral on TikTok, sparking a widespread effort to connect kelly with potential employers.
Kelly explained he initially learned about the circulating resume from a freind while in class for his master’s degree, and didn’t believe it was his until he downloaded TikTok and saw the video. He later confirmed the authenticity when the man reviewing his resume, identified as Brandon, contacted him on Veteran’s Day.
“turns out he and I were in the same infantry battalion in the U.S. Army back in 2014 up at Fort Drum,” Kelly said.Despite taking different paths after their military service, they both ended up working in Upstate New York.
Kelly revealed on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that he hadn’t actually applied for a position, and that brandon actively seeks to hire veteran talent for his company in Buffalo. The viral moment, however, has fostered a connection between the two.
In a surprising twist, Kelly admitted to the Jonas brothers and their audience that he was previously unfamiliar with their music. “I had never heard of you before this,” he confessed. “My wife had to tell me. I didn’t have Disney Channel growing up.I didn’t know!” He quickly added, “I’m a huge fan now. Love you guys.”
The Jonas brothers posted a video on their TikTok account featuring Kelly, singing their song “Backwards” with the caption,”LOUUUDER because we found Scott Kelly.”
