Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, falls on Thursday, june 19, 2025. This federal holiday, observed since 2021, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation proclamation. Federal and State Observances of Juneteenth

As a federal holiday, non-essential federal offices will be closed on Juneteenth. This includes the United States Postal Service, meaning no regular mail delivery will occur
