Netanyahu Condemns Leaders Recognizing Palestinian Statehood Ahead of US Trip

Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized international leaders considering recognition of a palestinian state, vowing such a move would not occur while he is in power. The remarks came as Netanyahu prepared to depart for the United States on Thursday, September 25, 2025, for a fourth meeting with former President Donald Trump, his office stated, as reported by AFP.

The escalating rhetoric underscores the fragility of peace efforts amid ongoing conflict and highlights Netanyahu’s firm opposition to Palestinian statehood within Israel’s borders. This stance carries significant implications for regional stability and international diplomatic efforts, particularly as the US seeks to broker a resolution to the Gaza crisis. The Prime Minister’s trip comes amid heightened expectations for a potential breakthrough in gaza negotiations, spurred by a new peace plan reportedly presented by Trump to Arab and Islamic leaders.

“I will curse leaders who, rather of cursing killers, rapists, and children’s burners, instead want to give them a country in the heart of Israel. This will not happen,” Netanyahu declared before his departure from Ben Gurion Airport. He framed his upcoming meeting with Trump as an opportunity to discuss the “great opportunity brought by our victory,” emphasizing the need to secure the return of hostages, defeat Hamas, and broaden the scope of peace agreements.

US envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, expressed optimism about a potential breakthrough in Gaza “in the coming days,” revealing that Trump had shared a “21 points” plan for peace in the Middle East and Gaza with regional leaders. Witkoff asserted the plan addresses both Israeli concerns and those of neighboring countries, tho he did not detail the specifics of the 21 points during remarks at the UN General Assembly.
