‘Lava Survival‘ Mobile Game Launches Globally, Leveraging Popular Animation IP
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – November 3, 2023 – A new mobile game based on the globally recognized animation ‘LARVA’ has officially launched worldwide. Developed by Mighton, led by CEO Sun Dong-kyun, ‘Lava Survival’ is now available on Google Play, One Store, and the Galaxy Store, with simultaneous server openings across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Korea.
The game blends survival and idle gameplay mechanics, featuring characters from the original ‘LARVA’ animation known for its comedic direction. ‘Lava Survival’ distinguishes itself through fast-paced battles, diverse item collection, and an automated combat system designed for accessibility. Mini-game content is also integrated to maintain player engagement.
Mighton developed ‘Lava survival’ over approximately two years, preparing for global distribution. The game was selected as a Google window program early in production, signifying confidence in its international potential and resulting in a stable server infrastructure and global operating system.
‘LARVA’ is a leading Korean animated IP, broadcast in over 180 countries and boasting meaningful brand recognition. Industry analysts note that games utilizing established IPs benefit from lower initial market entry barriers, particularly when targeting family and younger audiences. The convergence of survival and idle genres is also seen as a competitive differentiator within the mobile game market.
“‘Lava Survival’ is an example of implementing Korea’s representative animation as a game,” a statement from Mighton reads.
The launch is anticipated to bolster the global expansion strategy for games based on Korean animation intellectual property.
