iPhone 17 pro Claims Video Crown, But Vivo X200 Ultra Still Leads in Overall DXOMARK Camera Rankings
The apple iPhone 17 Pro is making waves in video performance, surpassing last year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max to claim the top spot in DXOMARK’s video rankings. Testers highlight the iPhone 17 Pro’s excellent video quality, noting accurate exposure, reliable white balance, and high dynamic range even in low-light conditions. Praised features also include low artifacts, a pleasing bokeh effect, and smooth zooming transitions between its three camera modules.
While excelling in video, the iPhone 17 Pro doesn’t yet dominate overall camera performance. The Vivo X200 Ultra currently leads with a score of 173, slightly ahead of the iPhone 17 Pro’s 166 points in DXOMARK’s photo testing. The Huawei pura 80 Ultra also remains a top contender for best photo performance.
Testers did note minor drawbacks with the iPhone 17 Pro’s video capabilities, including occasional focus and white balance instabilities when recording moving subjects, and slightly reduced texture detail near zoom presets.Noise levels in interior shots or low-light environments could also be improved. A full test report is expected soon.
Comparison images from DXOMARK featuring the Pura 80 Ultra, X200 Ultra, and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL demonstrate that the iPhone 17 Pro isn’t the optimal choice in all photographic scenarios, particularly when compared to leading Chinese smartphone flagships.
