I don’t have a Pinterest offer yet, but wondering if it’s even worth doing their onsite interview considering I already signed a Meta offer and am starting next month. Timing is going to be really tight since I already have a pre-planned vacation next week and might not receive an offer until very close to when I start with Meta, or maybe even after. I also do worry about the potential repercussions of reneging, since Meta was my dream company (at one point) and don’t want to burn a bridge with them.
I honestly don’t know a whole lot about Pinterest but I hear a lot of good things about working for them. WLB seems good, people seem nice, and they’re fully remote. Seems similar to my current company, just pays better, which was all I really wanted out of this job search.
Meta E4 offer:
– Base: 180K
– Bonus: 27K
– RSUs: 107.5K
– no sign on
– TC: 314.5K
Pinterest IC14 / Software Engineer II numbers quoted from recruiter:
– Base: 166K – 192K
– ??? Bonus
– ??? RSUs
– 3 year vesting schedule, no cliff, 50% vests in Y1
– TC: 275K – 310K
But the product seems kind of unexciting and I honestly have no idea how they stay profitable. I don’t mind boring work but do worry about stability. Can anyone at Pinterest weigh in on the pros/cons of working there?
Current TC: 260K
YOE: 2.5
